Dubai Exiles U14 Rugby Team In Kenyan Adventure!

The Dubai Exiles Under 14 rugby team is gearing up for an exciting adventure in Kenya! This trip, taking place from April 6th to 14th, 2024, goes beyond just competition – it’s about strengthening bonds, fostering cultural exchange, and celebrating the spirit of rugby.

A Rugby Relationship Rooted in Generosity

The connection between Dubai Exiles RFC and Kenya Harlequins RFC began in the 2022-23 season. It all started with a young Dubai Exiles player, Nathan Ochola, who trained with the Harlequins during his summer break in Nairobi. Nathan’s desire to show gratitude sparked a “boot exchange” initiative. At the end of last season, over 300 pairs of boots made their way to Kenya, a testament to the generosity of the Dubai Exiles community.

Building Bonds Through Rugby

This Kenyan tour is more than just a game. It’s a chance for young athletes from both clubs to:

  • Experience Diverse Playing Styles: Exposure to different approaches to the game broadens their skills and understanding.
  • Forge Lasting Friendships: Building connections with players from another culture creates lasting memories and friendships.
  • Embrace Camaraderie and Sportsmanship: The spirit of rugby, with its emphasis on teamwork and respect, takes center stage.

The Itinerary: A Blend of Competition and Community

The Dubai Exiles U14s will be busy throughout their Kenyan adventure:

  • Community Service Engagement: On Tuesday, April 9th, they will participate in a clean-up activity alongside Kenya Harlequins U14s in Kibera, demonstrating their commitment to giving back to the community. The venue for this CSR project will be the Olympic Primary School located in Kibera.
  • Match Day Excitement: A highly anticipated match against the Kenya Harlequin U14s is scheduled for Wednesday, April 10th. This friendly match will be held at the RFUEA Grounds in Nairobi.
  • Blackrock Easter Festival: The team will showcase their skills at the renowned Blackrock Easter Festival on Saturday, April 13th. This prestigious event, known for being the biggest high school rugby union competition in East Africa, will be held at the RFUEA Grounds as well. Get Tickets Here.

A Shared Passion for the Game

This Dubai Exiles U14s tour is a shining example of how rugby fosters international connections.
