The Kenya Rugby Union’s (KRU) Annual General Meeting (AGM) will potentially se the addition of two new clubs into the fold. Vihiga Granites and Meru RFC, will be seeking affiliation with the KRU, marking an exciting step for Kenyan rugby.
Following the Path to Affiliation

Once nominated and seconded, the entire membership will vote at the AGM to determine whether to accept Vihiga Granites and Meru RFC into the fold.
Introducing the New Contenders
- Vihiga Granites: Founded in 2018, this club hails from the Western Region League. Their desire to join the KRU signifies their ambition and potential to contribute to the national rugby scene.
- Meru RFC: Established in 2016, Meru RFC is a community-based club from Meru County in the Eastern Slopes of Mount Kenya. Currently playing in the Central Region League, their affiliation with the KRU would provide a wider platform for their talent and a pathway for aspiring players in the region.
